Split travel guide — where to stay, what to do, and where to eat in Split, Dalmatia, Croatia.
Split has a classic Mediterranean climate: long hot dry summers, mild winters and minimal rainfall from June through September. The city receives approximately 2,700 sunshine hours per year, more than almost any European mainland city. Summer temperatures regularly reach 32–36°C. The sea is swimmable from late May through October. The Bora (Bura) wind blows cold from the northeast in winter and can be fierce; the Jugo brings humid southern air and occasional storms.
