Andrés D.C. is the Zona Rosa outpost of Andrés Carne de Res, at Calle 82 #12-21 in Bogotá, Colombia. The restaurant spreads over several themed floors crammed with folk art, painted objects, hanging decorations and staff in costume, and it is often described as the loudest and most theatrical dinner in the city. The kitchen is a Colombian grill: grilled beef cuts such as lomo and punta de anca, chorizo and morcilla platters, canastas of arepas and large shared picadas sized for groups. Many tables order several platters and pass them around, and portions are generous. Drinks are a big part of the evening, with cocktails, aguardiente and beer served in volume. As the night goes on the restaurant turns into a dance floor, with live music, performers and staff who pull diners into the dancing, so the atmosphere shifts from dinner to party. Noise is high throughout, conversation is difficult in the busiest rooms, and the crowd ranges from families early in the evening to groups of friends later. Dress is casual and colourful, and comfortable shoes help. Prices are mid-to-upper, roughly COP 60,000-160,000 per person (about $19-50), and the total rises quickly with drinks. Hours are long: Sunday 12PM-12AM, Monday to Wednesday 12PM-1AM, and Thursday to Saturday 12PM-3AM. Reservations are strongly recommended at weekends, and groups should book ahead, since walk-in waits can be long. Visitors seeking a quieter meal are better served by arriving at lunch or early evening, before the music builds. The venue is in Zona Rosa, near Zona T bars and clubs, and taxis or ride-hailing are advisable for the late finish.
