Zona T Bar Strip

The Zona T Bar Strip is the pedestrianised, T-shaped block of streets in Chapinero, Bogotá, Colombia, centred on Carrera 13 near Calle 82, lined with bars, restaurants and clubs. It is the capital's most convenient introduction to going out, because dozens of venues sit within walking distance and no transport is needed between them. The crowd is mainstream and mixed: young professionals, groups of friends, international visitors and hotel guests from the surrounding Zona Rosa, with the age range mostly twenties to forties. Dress is smart casual to dressy, particularly on Friday and Saturday, and sportswear and flip-flops may be refused at the more upmarket doors. The atmosphere is lively and social, with terraces filling on warm evenings and music from individual venues overlapping along the street, ranging from pop and reggaetón to crossover and Latin dance. The drinks programme is dominated by cocktails, which cost about COP 28,000 to COP 45,000 at most bars, along with beer, aguardiente, rum and wine, and many places pair drinks with full dinner menus. Trading is daily and evening-oriented, with the strongest activity from Thursday to Saturday between 20:00 and 03:00, and individual hours vary by venue. Most bars charge no cover, though some clubs nearby do so on peak nights, and popular restaurant-bars accept reservations for groups on weekends. Bottle service is common in the clubs around the strip rather than in the plain bars. Because the strip is busy and prosperous, it is generally regarded as one of the more comfortable areas for a first night out, though the usual city precautions apply: keep valuables secure, watch drinks, and use registered taxis or ride-hailing apps to leave late at night. Visitors can start early with dinner and a cocktail, move between bars, and finish at a club in the Zona Rosa.
