Baum is Colombia's flagship techno club, at Calle 33 #6-24 in Chapinero Central, Bogotá, and has been repeatedly listed in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs. It opened in 2013 and built its reputation on booking international techno and house artists and on a sound system that rewards standing close to the front. The interior is an angular red-and-velvet space, and the crowd is music-first: dedicated electronic fans, local DJs, students, expatriates and visiting techno tourists, with an age range mostly from early twenties to late thirties. Dress is dark, casual and comfortable for a long night of dancing, and dressy or flashy outfits are less common than at the Zona Rosa clubs. The atmosphere is focused and immersive rather than social, with long sets that run to sunrise. Opening hours are Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 06:00, with occasional Thursday and Sunday events for special line-ups. Cover depends on the headliner and ranges from about COP 40,000 to COP 120,000, and advance tickets are cheaper than the door price. Tickets for major nights sell through Colombian ticketing platforms, and the door price rises sharply after midnight, so buying ahead is worthwhile. The door is selective about behaviour rather than fashion, and queues form on headline nights around midnight. Bottle service is not the focus, and reservations are generally replaced by advance ticketing. Visitors interested in the dancefloor experience commonly arrive around 01:00 for peak sets and stay until the early morning. It is the natural stop for anyone wanting serious electronic music in Bogotá, and it suits visitors who plan the night around a specific artist.
