Embalse del Sisga is a long reservoir in Cundinamarca beside the Bogota-Tunja highway, around kilometre 55 near Choconta, roughly 55 km northeast of Bogota. It sits in the Almeidas province at high Andean altitude, and the setting is one of rolling green hills and a narrow, elongated water body rather than a sandy beach. There is no real sand: access is by grassy shoreline, small jetties and operator-run landing points, and the water is cold and dark green.

A long reservoir beside the Bogota-Tunja highway, quieter than Tomine and known for waterskiing, wakeboarding and stand-up paddleboarding, plus one of the few altitude dive training sites in Colombia. Lakeside restaurants serve trout and there are glamping domes and kayak rentals on the eastern shore. The water is cold and open swimming away from organised operators is discouraged.

Open swimming away from organised operators is discouraged. The reservoir is quieter than the better-known Tomine and has built a niche around water sports. Waterskiing, wakeboarding and stand-up paddleboarding are offered by local operators, and kayaks can be rented, mainly on the eastern shore. Sisga is also known as one of the few altitude dive training sites in Colombia, drawing scuba students who practise in cold, high-elevation conditions. The elongated shape gives sheltered stretches that suit towed water sports, though wind can rise in the afternoon. The atmosphere is a relaxed weekend escape, with fewer crowds than the more famous lakes, and a mix of families, sports enthusiasts and travellers breaking the journey along the highway. Amenities are concentrated along the road. Lakeside restaurants serve trout and hearty Andean dishes, glamping domes offer overnight stays, and roadside parking areas serve the operators. Lifeguard provision is not standardised, so visitors should rely on the safety equipment and staff of the operators they book with. Access is very easy compared with most Sabana lakes. Any Tunja or Choconta bus from Portal del Norte or the Terminal del Norte stops on the highway beside the reservoir, and the trip takes about 1.5 hours; by car it is a straight run up the Autopista Norte towards Tunja. Conditions are cool and often breezy, so layers, sun protection and waterproofs are advisable, and neoprene is typically supplied for water activities.
