Lijiang Bar Street (Jiubajie)
Connected to Sifang Square in Lijiang Old Town, Bar Street is one of the most famous nightlife strips in Southwest China, with dozens of bars serving local Yunnan rice wine, cold beer, and cocktails to the accompaniment of live Naxi music. The atmosphere is energetic and friendly.
Dali Ancient City Bar Row (Honglongjing)
The bar strip along Renmin Road and the water channels in Dali Ancient City has a distinctly relaxed hippie-meets-backpacker atmosphere. Bars spill onto the cobblestones and customers sit on low benches sipping local Yunnan rice wine or craft beers.
Kunming Nanping Pedestrian Street & Surrounds
Kunming's nightlife clusters around the Nanping Street pedestrian area, with options ranging from dive bars and karaoke to sophisticated cocktail lounges and live jazz venues. The Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway area is the epicenter.
Shangri-La Bonfire Culture
Rather than traditional bars, Shangri-La's evening entertainment centers on bonfire gatherings at Tibetan guesthouses and cultural performances. Local Tibetan families invite visitors to join circle dances (Guozhuang) around bonfires to traditional music.
Xishuangbanna Night Market Area
