Tang Paradise (Da Tang Furong Yuan)

Tang Paradise is a large themed cultural park in Xi'an's Qujiang New District, built around a recreated Tang-dynasty imperial garden on the site of the historical Furong Garden, combining reconstructed pavilions, a central lake, and staged cultural performances meant to evoke the Tang capital's golden age. Visitors can walk between themed zones including a poetry-and-calligraphy courtyard, a diaotai (fishing platform) overlooking the lake, and a replica of a Tang-era imperial reception hall, with costumed performers staging short dance and music routines throughout the day. The park's centerpiece is its evening program, when the lake becomes the stage for a large-scale water, light, and laser show synchronized to music, drawing the largest crowds of the day to the lakeside viewing areas. A full daytime walk through the main zones takes about two hours, while visitors staying for the evening water show should budget three to four hours total to include a slow walk plus a good viewing spot before the show begins. Because the daytime park and evening show pull very different crowd sizes, arriving in the late afternoon lets visitors see the daytime gardens with lighter foot traffic before the evening crowds build for the light show.
