Great Tang All Day Mall & Yongxingfang

Great Tang All Day Mall is an open-air pedestrian street in Yanta District, Xi'an, running toward the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and built in Tang-dynasty architectural style, lined with shops, cafes, and life-size bronze statues depicting Tang court scenes and famous historical figures such as the poet Li Bai. Street performers, including musicians and dancers in period costume, appear at intervals along the promenade, particularly in the evening when lantern lighting and projection displays add to the atmosphere. Adjoining the mall, Yongxingfang is a dedicated food street styled after a Tang-dynasty market, packed with stalls and small restaurants serving Shaanxi specialties like biangbiang noodles and mutton stew, along with novelty snack vendors that draw long lines on weekend evenings. A walk through both the mall and food street, with time to browse shops and sample food, takes about two to three hours. Daytime visits are more about photographing the architecture and bronze statues with fewer people around, while the area truly comes alive after dark, when lighting, live performers, and the food street crowd combine for the liveliest atmosphere; this also makes it a natural stop before or after visiting the nearby Big Wild Goose Pagoda's evening fountain show.
