Huashan North Peak Cable Car (Sante Cableway)

The North Peak Cable Car, known as the Sante Cableway, is a shorter 1.5 km aerial ropeway on Mount Hua near Huayin, Shaanxi, running up to the North Peak in about 5 to 8 minutes. It requires no prior fitness or technical skill and no special equipment, making it accessible to nearly all visitors, including families with children, though very young riders should stay close to an adult in the cabin. The line is operated by the Huashan North Peak Sante Cableway, a separate company from the West Peak's Taiping Cableway, and staff at the base station manage boarding queues and enforce cabin capacity for safety. Attendants give a brief safety notice before departure, and the operator maintains rescue procedures for lowering cabins along the support towers in the unlikely event of a stoppage. Once at the North Peak, the cable car connects hikers to the ridge trail leading toward the more strenuous Changkong Plank Path and the other four peaks, making it a popular entry point for a full day on the mountain. The Sante Cableway runs year-round, though service is suspended during high winds or lightning, and because it is the shortest and often busiest of Mount Hua's lines, queues can build quickly during Chinese national holidays and weekends.
