Wandu Mountain City (Wandu Shancheng) is a Goguryeo mountain fortress on the slopes of Mount Wandu, north of Ji'an City, Jilin Province. Built from about 3 AD, it was the defensive companion to the lowland capital at Gonnei City: when danger threatened, the court could retreat to the steep, easily defended mountain site.

The fortress is enclosed by stone walls that climb the ridges and close off a valley, with surviving gate sites, lookout platforms, a palace foundation, storage pits and a reservoir. The walls are made of closely fitted stone blocks and are among the best-preserved Goguryeo defensive works. Mount Wandu rises behind the town, and the site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage property Capital Cities and Tombs of the Ancient Koguryo Kingdom. Visitors enter by the south gate and follow steep stone steps up to the palace site, a climb that takes some effort, then walk along stretches of wall for views across the Yalu River valley and over Ji'an. A visit typically takes one and a half to two hours. The ticket is part of the combined Ji'an heritage ticket at about CNY 60, with students at about half price, and the site is open roughly 8:00 to 17:00. A taxi from Ji'an town takes about ten minutes. Hiking shoes are recommended because the steps and trails can be uneven and slippery when wet. The best months are May to October, with spring and early autumn offering cool conditions and green or coloured foliage. Weekday mornings are quiet, while tour groups appear in the middle of the day in summer. Water and sun protection are useful since there is little shade on the exposed stretches of wall.
