Dress code is smart-casual to business attire; sportswear and flip-flops are frowned upon in the hotel bars. The atmosphere is quiet, refined and conversational, with lower lighting, comfortable seating and city views from higher floors. Music is typically live piano, jazz trios, vocalists or curated lounge playlists, kept at a volume that allows conversation. Drinks programmes emphasise classic and signature cocktails, imported whisky, wine by the glass, champagne and premium tea or coffee, with cocktails priced around ¥70-130 (about $10-19) and service charges sometimes added at hotel venues. Most lounges open around 18:00 and close near 01:00; weekdays attract the after-work crowd and weekends bring couples and small groups. Cover charges vary and are often absent, but some venues apply minimum spends for window tables or live-music evenings. Reservations are recommended for weekend evenings and for any table with a view, and hotel concierges can often assist. Bottle service is available at some venues but is not the focus. The area is well served by Xinjiekou subway interchange and by taxis and ride-hailing, and is close to major shopping malls, so it works well as a post-dinner stop. Visitors wanting a livelier night usually continue to the 1912 Block or the Laomendong lanes afterwards.
