Enshi Grand Canyon Glass Skywalk

The Enshi Grand Canyon's cliffside glass skywalk, in the Xiaoxi Township section of the scenic area near Enshi city, extends out from a sheer karst cliff face and offers a foreground of the transparent walkway itself against a background of near-vertical rock walls dropping several hundred meters to the canyon floor. Because the canyon walls run in multiple directions, midday sun works better here than in most landscape locations, penetrating deep into the gorge and revealing texture in the rock strata that side-lit conditions leave in shadow; late afternoon brings warmer color to the exposed cliff faces and softer contrast for skywalk-focused shots. April to May and September to October offer the clearest air and best long-distance visibility across the canyon, while summer haze and winter fog frequently obscure the far walls. The skywalk itself has a capacity limit and forms queues on weekends and holidays, with wait times of thirty minutes to over an hour during peak season; visiting on a weekday or arriving shortly after the scenic area opens reduces both the crowd and the queue for an unobstructed position on the glass. Tripods are permitted on the walkway's viewing platforms but not directly on the glass sections themselves, where standing photographers must keep moving; drone flights require prior approval from the scenic area management and are not permitted without it. Entry to the scenic area and a separate ticket for the glass skywalk are both required, and the skywalk fee is in addition to the general admission price.
