Baomo Garden

Baomo Garden occupies grounds in Shawan Town, Panyu District, a Lingnan-style classical garden built around a network of ponds, brick carvings, stone bridges and pavilions inspired by traditional Guangdong garden design, alongside sections evoking the Jiangnan garden style of eastern China. The garden's centerpiece features an extensive brick relief carving depicting scenes along the Pearl River, along with a collection of stone and wood carvings, bonsai displays and a long covered gallery walkway connecting the garden's various pavilions. Visitors enter through the main gate and follow a winding path around the central lake, crossing arched stone bridges and pausing at pavilions decorated with intricate brickwork, with several sections set up for traditional Hanfu costume photography that has become popular with visitors. A visit covering the main garden sections takes about two to three hours, longer for those renting costumes for photography. The clearest photo vantage points are the arched bridges reflected in the central lake and the long brick-carved relief wall depicting the Pearl River scenes. The garden draws its largest crowds on weekends, particularly from visitors coming specifically for costume photography, so a weekday morning visit offers calmer paths and better lighting conditions for photographing the architecture and lake reflections without crowds in the frame.
