Praia do Perequê, Ilhabela

Praia do Perequê sits on the channel-facing side of Ilhabela, closest to the ferry terminal that connects the island to São Sebastião, on the São Paulo litoral norte. Because it faces the sheltered Canal de São Sebastião rather than the open Atlantic, the water is notably calm, with a muted brownish-green tone typical of the channel rather than the clearer blue of the island's ocean-facing beaches. The sand is fine but the beach itself is modest and built up, backed by the marina, restaurants, and the ferry access road, making it more of a functional, well-located beach than a scenic escape. Kayak and small boat rental operate from stands near the marina, and beach bars along the shorefront serve food through the day and into the evening, taking advantage of the steady flow of ferry passengers and boat traffic. Its main appeal is convenience: being directly beside the Perequê ferry terminal makes it an easy first or last stop for visitors arriving on or departing the island, and its calm channel water suits a quick, relaxed swim rather than a full beach day. There is no long transport connection needed beyond the ferry itself, followed by a short walk or drive from the terminal.
