Day trip from Bahia, Bahia
Praia do Forte and Linha Verde Coast
Praia do Forte is a charming beach resort village 80km north of Salvador on the picturesque Linha Verde (Green Line) coastal road. The village has an attractive pedestrian main street lined with restaurants and boutique shops, and the Projeto TAMAR sea turtle conservation center directly on the beach. The beach itself has unusually calm, green-tinted water protected by offshore reefs. Nearby, the Castelo Garcia d'Ávila — the first private castle built in the Americas (1556) — overlooks the surrounding landscape. Return on the same bus or continue north to the beautiful beaches of Guarajuba and Imbassaí.
