Moderate (guided tours); challenging (off-trail in wet/winter conditions)Year-round; heather bloom (August–September) is spectacular; snow winter

A guided trekking experience across Belgium's highest and most remote landscape — a vast peat bog moorland of heather, cotton grass, and black water pools near the German border. The plateau has a haunting, otherworldly atmosphere and is a Special Area of Conservation. Much of the plateau is only accessible with an authorized guide due to the ecological sensitivity of the terrain and safety risks.
