Adventure in Han-sur-Lesse, Rochefort, Namur Province, Belgium
Caving at Han-sur-Lesse (Grottes de Han)
Belgium's most spectacular cave system, carved by the Lesse river through limestone over millennia. The standard guided tour follows 3km of underground passages through vast chambers (the Grande Salle is 150m wide and 60m high), past stalactite formations, underground lakes, and the point where the Lesse river flows underground. An adventure 'speleology' tour is available for those wanting to explore off-route with helmet and overalls.
