Nightlife Overview
Nightlife by Neighborhood
Find the vibe that suits you.
Northbridge
Perth's primary entertainment district, centred on James and William Streets just north of the CBD. Northbridge has everything from sophisticated cocktail lounges and craft beer bars to large dance clubs, live music venues, and restaurants. The district is lively Thursday through Sunday and is walkable from Perth's CBD. Home to Perth's Chinatown food precinct and the WA Museum.
Mount Lawley / Beaufort Street Strip
Perth's most loved neighbourhood bar and restaurant strip, running along Beaufort Street through Mount Lawley into Highgate. This is where Perthites go for a sophisticated night out — independent bars, excellent restaurants, must-visit venues like Must Winebar and The Beaufort Street Merchant, and a generally more mature crowd than Northbridge. The Astor Theatre is a spectacular restored 1920s picture palace hosting international artists.
Leederville
A charming inner-suburb with Oxford Street as its main strip, popular for its authentic neighbourhood feel, craft beer bars, and excellent restaurants. Leederville has a younger crowd and a relaxed, friendly vibe. The Windsor Hotel and Oxford St Café are local institutions, and the Leederville Hotel has a great beer garden.
Fremantle
Fremantle has a legendary pub and live music culture dating back decades. The E Shed and B Shed on Victoria Quay, the iconic Little Creatures Brewery on Fishing Boat Harbour, the Newport Hotel with its outdoor courtyard, and the Norfolk Hotel on South Terrace are all Fremantle institutions. The weekend market and tourist buzz give Fremantle a more festive atmosphere than Perth on weekend afternoons.
Perth CBD
The CBD has grown significantly as a nightlife destination, driven by the Elizabeth Quay riverside development and excellent rooftop bars like Lucky Chan at QT Perth and the Treasury Hotel bars. Murray Street and St Georges Terrace have several sophisticated bars and restaurants that stay open late.

The Elford
A sophisticated, intimate wine bar in Northbridge with an exceptional list of natural wines, excellent small plates of European-influenced food, and a relaxed, knowledgeable wine bar atmosphere. One of Perth's finest wine bars and a welcome alternative to the louder bars of the Northbridge strip.
Helvetica

The Flour Factory
A multi-level heritage bar and restaurant in Perth CBD famous for its creative cocktail programme, excellent natural wine list, and market-driven food menu. The upstairs bar is one of Perth's best cocktail destinations.
Lucky Chan Rooftop Bar
Perth's most popular rooftop bar, on the seventh floor of QT Perth with panoramic views over Murray Street and the CBD skyline. Lucky Chan serves bold Asian-inspired cocktails, excellent bar food, and has a lively, design-forward atmosphere that attracts Perth's fashionable crowd.
The Newport Hotel
A beautifully restored Federation-era pub in Fremantle's South Terrace, with a famous outdoor beer garden and multiple bars across several levels. The Newport is one of Fremantle's great drinking institutions, popular for Sunday sessions and live music. Excellent selection of WA craft beers on tap.
Must Winebar
Perth's most distinguished wine bar and one of WA's finest restaurants, with a cellar of 3,500+ bottles including the best collection of small-producer WA wines in the state. The candlelit interior, expert staff, and superb food make this the perfect high-end Beaufort Street experience.
