The Fremont Street Experience is a pedestrian mall of about five blocks in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, centered at 425 Fremont St between Main Street and 4th Street. A curved steel canopy overhead carries the Viva Vision LED screen, which plays synchronized video and music shows on the hour from roughly 6:00 PM into the early morning. Below it, visitors walk past vintage casinos such as the Golden Nugget, Binion's and the Four Queens, with several free live-music stages, street performers, souvenir stalls and neon signs from the old downtown. Adults can also try the SlotZilla zip line, which launches from a tower at the east end. The area is open around the clock and free to enter. A visit usually lasts one and a half to three hours, enough to walk the length once, watch a canopy show and visit a casino or two. The best photo angles are from the middle of the mall looking up at the canopy during a show, and from the west end looking east along the neon signs. Crowd patterns are clear: evenings from Thursday to Saturday are the busiest and loudest, with live bands on every stage, while weekday afternoons are calmer and better for photos of the vintage signs. The atmosphere is more casual and less polished than the Strip's resort corridor, with busker performers, costumed characters and heavy foot traffic late at night. Visitors who prefer a quieter experience can walk the mall in the afternoon and return after dark for the canopy shows. The Fremont East District, with bars and Downtown Container Park, lies a few minutes' walk to the east.
