Clearwater Beach on Florida's Pinellas County Gulf Coast is consistently ranked among the finest beaches in the United States for its combination of powdery white quartz sand, warm shallow Gulf water, and well-maintained public facilities. The beach stretches nearly three miles along a barrier island separated from the mainland by Clearwater Harbor, connected by Memorial Causeway. The Clearwater Beach Marina adjacent to Pier 60 runs regular dolphin tours and sunset cruises. Caladesi Island State Park — one of Florida's most pristine undeveloped barrier islands — is accessible by ferry from Clearwater Beach, adding a wilderness complement to the developed resort atmosphere.
