Prohibition San Diego at 548 Market St in the Gaslamp Quarter delivers one of the most immersive speakeasy experiences in Southern California, transporting guests into a theatrical rendering of 1920s America. The bar operates Thursday through Saturday only, from 7pm to 2am, with a cover charge of $0–15 that varies by night. The Gaslamp Quarter location places Prohibition among San Diego's densest concentration of nightlife venues, but the bar distinguishes itself through theatrical presentation that stands apart from the district's conventional clubs and sports bars.

Staff dress in period costume throughout the evening, the decor faithfully replicates Prohibition-era aesthetics — dark wood paneling, velvet ropes, candlelit tables, and period-appropriate fixtures — and the cocktail menu draws exclusively on pre-Prohibition and 1920s American cocktail traditions. Classics such as the Bee's Knees, French 75, Last Word, and Sidecar anchor the menu alongside house originals designed to evoke the period. Drinks are priced $14–18. The bar also features a selection of period-appropriate spirits and serves craft beers on draft.

Live jazz and swing performances feature regularly Thursday through Saturday evenings. Performers in period attire add to the theatrical atmosphere.
