The neighbourhood is characterised by tree-lined streets, a concentration of expatriate households, and a range of supermarkets and restaurants along nearby Kisementi Road and Old Kira Road. Acacia Mall is within a short drive, Garden City Mall is accessible in approximately 15 minutes by taxi, and Bukoto's proximity to the Kololo ridge means cooler evenings than the central business district.

The guesthouse occupies a modest compound with a small restaurant, a shared lounge, and off-street parking. The single-storey brick structure is typical of Bukoto's residential architecture, giving the property an understated, neighbourhood feel rather than the anonymity of a larger hotel. Airport transfers to Entebbe International, roughly 40–45 kilometres south, can be arranged through reception; the journey takes 45 minutes to over an hour depending on traffic, so early booking is advisable. Free WiFi covers the full property, and a 24-hour reception desk with a security guard on the compound provides the dependable, low-key security that short-stay travellers and volunteers in this part of Kampala tend to appreciate.
