Tokat is a historic city in northern central Turkey, set along the Yeşilırmak River and flanked by dramatic hillside cliffs. Known for its Seljuk and Ottoman architecture, traditional copperwork, and fertile valley landscapes, Tokat rewards travellers who venture beyond the usual tourist trail.
Tokat has a semi-continental climate characterised by hot, dry summers and cold winters. Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant with moderate rainfall, making them the most comfortable seasons for sightseeing. Snowfall occasionally occurs in December and January but rarely disrupts travel.
