Why it matters
Site of one of the most important ancient temple complexes in Anatolia, dedicated to the goddess Ma (later associated with Enyo). An entire temple-city with thousands of sacred slaves. Strabo describes it in his Geography. Archaeological investigation ongoing; no formal visitor infrastructure.
