Çambaşı Highland Bungalows

Çambaşı Highland Bungalows occupies the Çambaşı Yaylası plateau at roughly 1,650 to 1,800 metres above sea level, approximately 55 kilometres south of Ordu's coastal centre via a winding mountain road. This plateau is one of the better-developed highland recreation areas in the Eastern Black Sea region, drawing both summer hikers seeking cool air and winter skiers who come for the slopes installed on the surrounding ridgelines.

The bungalows are constructed in the wooden chalet style common to Anatolian highland resorts: pine-clad exteriors, pitched roofs designed to shed winter snow loads, and interiors that favour warmth and functionality over boutique refinement. Wooden bungalows sleep two to four guests in simple but comfortable arrangements, with the connecting shared grounds providing space for outdoor seating during summer months. Chalet rooms follow a more traditional double-room configuration and suit couples or solo travellers who do not require full apartment facilities.

Guests visit the plateau in two distinct seasonal modes. Summer visitors come for the cool mountain air — temperatures at the yayla run 15 to 20 degrees Celsius below the coastal city's humid summer heat — and for the walking trails that cross the plateau and surrounding beech forest. Winter visitors, typically from December through March, use the ski slopes directly accessible from the bungalow complex, which include beginner and intermediate runs served by a drag lift system.

Dining is provided by a plateau restaurant on site, which focuses on regional highland staples: corn bread, dried bean stews, local cheeses, and anchovy preparations carried up from the coast. No spa or pool facilities exist; the draw is entirely the natural setting and outdoor recreation. Free parking makes the complex accessible for guests arriving by private car from Ordu, which remains the standard mode of transport to the plateau.
