Nar Bahçesi (Pomegranate Garden)

Nar Bahçesi (Pomegranate Garden) is a café-restaurant situated alongside the belediye parkı (municipal park) on Cumhuriyet Caddesi in Iğdır city, taking its name from the pomegranate — the emblematic agricultural product of the province and one of the defining symbols of the region's landscape and economy. The venue spans a wider portion of the day than most Iğdır restaurants, opening at 08:00 to cover morning through to the late evening. Trade is heaviest in the morning: the köy kahvaltısı (village breakfast) spread — assembled with white cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, eggs, honey, butter, cream, and fresh bread — is the kitchen's most celebrated offering and is considered one of the better village-style breakfast options in central Iğdır. Gözleme, made on a flat sac griddle to order, are stuffed with spinach-cheese or potato-cheese mixtures and arrive hot from the griddle. Fresh pomegranate juice is pressed on-site in season (September to November) and served year-round from concentrate; the juice has become closely associated with the venue's identity. The park-adjacent outdoor terrace adds considerable appeal in spring and early summer, when the combination of greenery and the distant silhouette of Mount Ararat makes the setting particularly attractive. Prices are moderate at ₺120–280 per person, placing Nar Bahçesi above the cheapest canteens but well below the full-service grill restaurants of the city.
