Aydın is a province and city in Turkey's Aegean region, nestled in the fertile Büyük Menderes (Meander) River valley. The city of Aydın — sometimes called the 'fig capital of the world' — sits amid orchards producing the globally prized Söke and Çakıllı dried figs, alongside olives and cotton.
