Köprülü Kanyon Restaurant

Köprülü Kanyon Restaurant is one of several riverside dining establishments built on wooden platforms directly over the fast-flowing waters of the Köprülü River within Köprülü Canyon National Park, in the Manavgat district of Antalya province. The restaurant's defining characteristic is its position: tables sit on timber decks supported over the rushing canyon water, the sound of the river forming a constant backdrop to meals and the canyon walls rising steeply on both sides. This makes it one of the most dramatically situated restaurants in the Antalya region, visited not only for its food but for the sheer spectacle of the setting. Fresh trout is the culinary centrepiece — fish raised in the cold, fast-moving canyon waters are pulled and cooked to order, typically grilled simply or pan-fried in butter and herbs. The quality is genuine; the proximity of the fish to their source means the flavour and texture are as fresh as possible. Beyond the trout, the kitchen produces lamb şiş kebab grilled over charcoal and a selection of Turkish meze starters. Local honey, produced by beekeepers in the surrounding mountains, is sold at the restaurant and makes an excellent purchase. The restaurant operates primarily as a lunch venue, serving visitors who have completed morning white-water rafting excursions on the Köprülü River, and the setting suits a long, relaxed midday meal. The national park location means the restaurant closes in the late afternoon.
