A ruined Lycian-Roman port city with three harbors in a pine-fringed bay, plus the forested resort town of Kemer and Mount Tahtalı nearby.
Phaselis was founded in the 7th century BC and prospered from trade between Greece, Egypt, and the east. The site has a main avenue running between two harbors, an aqueduct, a small theatre, and baths, all in a pine forest. Entry is about 500 TRY (11 USD). Swimming is possible at the sandy cove beside the ruins. Kemer itself offers a marina, shops, and beaches, while the Olympos Teleferik cable car climbs Mount Tahtalı (2,365 m) for a fee of about 1,400 TRY (30 USD). Allow 3-4 hours at Phaselis.
