Han Restaurant (Emin Efendi Konakları)

The Han Restaurant operates within the Emin Efendi Konakları, a restored complex of traditional Ottoman konak (mansion) buildings on the Yalıboyu waterfront of Amasya, known as one of the city's most architecturally significant heritage hotels. The restaurant serves both hotel guests and outside diners, with a terrace facing the Bayezid II mosque complex on one side and overlooking the Yeşilırmak on the other — a dual aspect that makes it one of the most privileged dining positions in the city. The kitchen prepares Anatolian and Turkish dishes in the hospitality format expected by overnight guests: a generous morning spread for breakfast (from 07:30), featuring occasional savour items alongside the standard eggs, cheese, and honey; and an evening service of grilled meats, meze, and slow-cooked stews for dinner. Çiçek bamyası — the distinctive flower-cut okra unique to the Amasya province — appears on the menu when in season and represents the kitchen's strongest regional credential. The dining room inside the konak spans two restored rooms with original timber ceilings and latticed window screens that filter light in the Ottoman manner; the terrace is preferred from May through October. Dress code is smart-casual: the hotel's upper-mid tier positioning means the atmosphere is more composed than the casual riverfront alternatives. Outside diners are welcome but should reserve, particularly for weekend dinners. Prices at ₺350–800 per head reflect the setting premium.
