Hazeranlar Konağı is one of the finest surviving examples of 19th-century Ottoman waterfront domestic architecture in Amasya, built in 1865 for a local notable and his family. The three-storey timber-frame mansion stands directly on the north bank of the Yeşilırmak among the Yalıboyu row, its cantilevered upper floors and overhanging bay windows projecting out over the narrow riverside lane. Restored by the Turkish Ministry of Culture, the building now operates as a small ethnography museum displaying period furnishings, embroideries, household implements, and costumes that illustrate domestic life in late Ottoman Amasya. The ground-floor service rooms and the upper reception rooms — with their original carved wooden ceilings, painted niches, and low seating platforms — have been preserved with exceptional fidelity. The river-facing salon on the upper floor, with its row of latticed wooden windows overlooking the Yeşilırmak and the Pontic cliff face opposite, is one of the most atmospheric interior spaces in northern Turkey.
