A dramatic medieval fortress perched on a rocky bluff above the Kahta stream near Eski Kahta village. Largely Mamluk in its present form and built over earlier Commagene and Roman foundations, it commands sweeping views over the gorge and the road to Nemrut. Visitors can explore towers, cisterns and a steep stairway cut down toward the water, though some sections are closed for safety.
