One of the five major cities of the Commagene Kingdom and later an important Roman waystation, Perre lies on the northern edge of Adıyaman city in the Pirin quarter. Its most striking feature is a vast necropolis of more than 200 rock-cut tombs carved into the hillside, alongside a well-preserved Roman fountain that still flows and remains of the ancient city walls and street. A visitor reception and small site museum interpret the finds.
