The provincial archaeology museum gathers finds from Commagene and the wider region, including statuary, mosaics, inscriptions and rescue-excavation material recovered before the Atatürk Dam flooded ancient Samosata. The building sits in the city centre at the junction of Atatürk Boulevard and Cumhuriyet Avenue. Like many buildings in Adıyaman it was affected by the February 2023 earthquakes, so visitors should confirm its current opening status before travelling.
