Koh Tao Cabana

Koh Tao Cabana is positioned on the northern section of Sairee Beach, Koh Tao's longest and most developed strip of sand on the island's west coast. Mae Haad pier — the main arrival point for ferries from Chumphon and Koh Samui — is about 1.5 km south, reachable along the beach path in roughly 20 minutes on foot or by a 5-minute songthaew ride. The strip of dive schools and restaurants that defines Koh Tao's identity as one of Southeast Asia's premier budget diving destinations runs directly in front of the property.

The property is straightforward in design: a compact compound of low-rise bungalows and room blocks set back from the beach road, with a beachfront section directly accessible from the accommodation area. Fan bungalows are the most characterful option — small, timber-framed, functional; the air-conditioned rooms in the newer block are more conventional but offer better sleep comfort during the April–May heat peak. All rooms include Wi-Fi access and the essential amenities for a dive-holiday base.

A beachfront bar and restaurant — open-sided, fan-cooled, with views over the Andaman seascape towards the distant mainland islands — serves Thai dishes, Western comfort food, and a long list of cocktails and beers. The bar becomes a social hub in the evenings, drawing both in-house guests and divers from nearby schools.

Koh Tao Cabana does not operate its own dive school but is surrounded by independent operators offering PADI open-water courses, advanced diving, and fun dives to nearby sites. The social atmosphere skews towards backpackers and budget divers aged 18–35; the property is particularly well-suited to solo travellers who want to connect with others. Service is relaxed and informal; staff are helpful with motorbike hire, island maps, and transport logistics.
