Green Tiger House

Green Tiger House stands on Ratchawithi Road at the northeastern corner of the Old City, roughly one minute on foot from Tha Phae Gate — the principal eastern entrance to the historic quarter and the most photographed landmark in Chiang Mai. The Sunday Night Market, Wat Chedi Luang, and the Three Kings Monument are all within fifteen minutes' walk. The Night Bazaar is about twelve minutes south along Charoen Muang Road.

The hostel occupies a three-storey building designed to maximise social interaction at the budget end of the market. Dormitory beds dominate the room inventory — mixed dorms in six- and eight-bed configurations — alongside a smaller number of private rooms. All dorm beds include individual power sockets, reading lights, and curtain-partitioned privacy panels. Private rooms are compact but air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms. Locker storage is provided throughout for securing valuables and a common room serves as a daytime hangout space.

The ground floor houses a cafe-bar that is one of the livelier budget food stops near Tha Phae Gate, serving fresh-fruit smoothies, Western breakfasts, sandwiches, and basic Thai dishes from early morning until late evening. The rooftop lounge is a reliable meeting point in the evenings and operates a rotating selection of local beers, ciders, and cocktails. A tour desk assists with standard Chiang Mai bookings including cooking classes, elephant sanctuary day trips, trekking packages, and zip-line excursions. The hostel suits backpackers and solo travelers primarily, with the social design of the spaces favouring guests interested in meeting other travelers over those seeking quiet.
