Tarangire is famous for its enormous concentrations of elephants — largest in northern Tanzania — along its seasonal river. The park is also celebrated for its ancient baobab trees, red-and-yellow barbet, and tree-climbing lions. The dry season (June–October) sees tremendous concentrations of wildlife around the Tarangire River.
