Standing at 4,565 metres, Mount Meru is Tanzania's second highest peak and Africa's fifth highest mountain. The four-day climb through Arusha National Park offers spectacular views of Kilimanjaro on clear mornings, diverse ecological zones from forest to alpine desert, and sightings of buffalo, giraffe, and colobus monkeys on the lower slopes.
