Africa's highest peak at 5,895 metres, Kilimanjaro is visible from Arusha on clear mornings and is the ultimate goal for many visitors to the region. While Moshi is the typical base, many climbers begin their journey through Arusha. The mountain has six trekking routes and multiple summit options; no technical climbing skills are required for the standard routes.
