This important museum commemorates the Arusha Declaration of 1967 in which President Julius Nyerere outlined Tanzania's socialist and self-reliance policies. The museum houses extensive exhibits on Tanzanian political history, the independence movement, ujamaa villages, and the life and legacy of Mwalimu Nyerere.
