Hotel Khujand

Hotel Khujand is located on Lenin Street in the centre of Khujand, Tajikistan's second-largest city and the capital of Sughd province. The hotel sits within the historic core of a city whose foundations date to Alexander the Great's campaign through Central Asia, placing guests within easy reach of Khujand Fortress — an ancient Sogdian citadel housing the Museum of Sughd Region History — and Panjshanbe Bazaar, one of the largest and most atmospheric covered markets in Central Asia. The bazaar is a ten-minute walk from the hotel and operates daily except Friday, filling a Soviet-era structure with spice vendors, dried-fruit traders, and silk merchants. The Syr Darya River runs through the city, and the riverside promenade is accessible within fifteen minutes on foot.

The building is a post-Soviet construction that has been updated periodically to maintain functional comfort standards. The facade is modest but the interior is clean and maintained to a consistent standard. Rooms are simply furnished in a contemporary style, with air conditioning — important during Khujand's hot summers when temperatures regularly exceed 40°C — flat-screen televisions, and private bathrooms with hot water. The property does not offer a pool or spa, but its central location and room quality make it the preferred mid-range address in the city.

The restaurant occupies the ground floor and serves Tajik and Uzbek cooking — osh (plov), shurpa, manti dumplings, and grilled kebabs — that reflects the Ferghana Valley culinary influence on Khujand.
