One of Zürich's oldest parish churches, with the largest church clock face in Europe, a medieval tower and a late-baroque nave.
St. Peter's Church stands on a small square just below the Lindenhof and is one of the oldest parish churches in Zürich, with an early medieval predecessor on the site. Its tower carries a famous clock face of 8.7 metres in diameter, the largest in Europe, dating back to 1534, set in a medieval tower. The nave was rebuilt in baroque style in the 1700s, and the interior is bright, simple and Reformation-plain. Entrance is free, and the church is small enough for a quick visit. The surrounding quarter has cobbled lanes and guild houses, and the square is a pleasant place to rest. St. Peter's is close to Bahnhofstrasse and the Limmat.
