The Antennentrail, also called the Triemli Bike Trail, is the longer of the two official mountain-bike singletracks on the Uetliberg, the wooded ridge that rises directly behind the city. According to Zürich Tourism it is 3.5 km long with about 350 m of descent and a path width of 30 to 60 cm. It starts directly under the transmitter antenna next to the barbecue area near the summit and ends just above SZU Triemli station, so riders can take the S10 train back to the city or up again. The ride down takes roughly 11 minutes; pushing or riding up takes about 30 minutes. The trail is steep in places and suits riders with solid singletrack experience. The shorter Höckler trail, 500 m long with about 100 m of descent, can be combined into longer tours. Walkers share the ridge, so ride at a controlled speed and give way. Current trail conditions are published at zueritrails.ch. Riding is free; the only costs are the train fare and any bike rental arranged separately.
