The Frauenbad am Stadthausquai is a historic wooden bathhouse on the Limmat beside the Fraumünster, preserved as a women-only bath during the summer season. Visitors swim in the clean river water, sunbathe on the wooden decks, and enjoy a quiet, intimate setting in the middle of Zürich's old town. Admission is inexpensive, at CHF 8 (approx $10) for adults aged 20 and over, CHF 6 (approx $8) for ages 16-19, and CHF 4 (approx $5) for ages 6-15, and a summer season pass costs CHF 110 (approx $138). The 2026 season ran from 9 May to 20 September, and the bath was closed to the public on the day of the Limmatschwimmen race, so the bath is closed for the winter at the time of writing and visitors should plan for the 2027 season starting in May. Opening hours listed at around 9AM to 7:30PM daily in season, though the exact hours should be confirmed. In the evening the Frauenbad hosts the Barfussbar, which is open to all genders on selected nights. The bath is changing-cabin based, with lockers and a small café, and bathing suits are worn. It is a five-minute walk from Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse and close to the Fraumünster and Münsterhof. A similar men-only bath, the Männerbad Schanzengraben, operates nearby by separate management.
