Strandbad Tiefenbrunnen is one of the largest lakeside lidos in Zürich, set on the east shore of Lake Zürich in the Riesbach district at Bellerivestrasse 200. It is not a sand beach in the seaside sense: the grounds consist of a long grass lawn, a wooden jetty and a stepped entry into the lake, with a lake bed of fine gravel and silt.

One of Zürich's largest lakeside lidos on the east shore, with a long lawn, diving platforms and a restaurant. Popular with families and weekend crowds in summer.

Lake Zürich water here is typically clear and cool, turning green-blue in summer, and warms to comfortable swimming temperatures from late June. The east shore is sheltered from strong wind compared with open water, so conditions are generally calm, with gentle waves only on breezy afternoons. The lido is open-plan and wide rather than a cove, giving swimmers a broad frontage and plenty of space to spread out, and it is known for its diving platform. The atmosphere is family-oriented and busy on summer weekends, when the lawn fills with picnickers, children and groups of friends. Amenities include changing rooms and lockers, showers and toilets, a restaurant and kiosk for meals and drinks, a playground, and the lawn itself for sunbathing. Lifeguard supervision follows the municipal season, which usually runs from mid-May to mid-September, and the lido is operated by the city sports office (Sportamt). Access is straightforward: the grounds sit beside Tiefenbrunnen S-Bahn station and are reached in about 20 minutes by tram from Bellevue, with tram lines 2 and 4 stopping at Tiefenbrunnen. The ZSG lake boat also calls nearby, which makes arrival by water a scenic option. Parking in the district is limited, so public transport is the practical choice, particularly on hot weekends. The surrounding Seefeld and Riesbach shoreline offers lakeside promenades for a stroll before or after a swim, and the lido works well as a half-day or full-day stop for visitors based in central Zürich who want a reliable, well-equipped swimming spot with food on site.
