Playa de Leoz (Leoz River Beach)

Playa de Leoz is a small, remote freshwater bathing spot on the banks of a river in the village of Leoz, located in the Valdizarbe district approximately 55 kilometres south of Pamplona in Navarre, Spain. The site consists of a natural pool formed where the river widens and deepens enough for swimming, framed by low-cut grass banks and scattered shade trees that give the location a pleasantly rural, unmanicured character.

The water is clear and cool throughout the summer, maintained by the elevated watershed of the surrounding hills. The pool depth is modest — typically one to two metres at the deepest point — making it suitable for confident paddlers and casual swimmers, though the absence of supervision means children require close adult attention. The entry to the water is via a short grass bank and gentle slope with a mix of soft ground and smooth stone underfoot.
