Posada Mayor de Migueloa (Laguardia)

Posada Mayor de Migueloa occupies the Palacio de Viana, a Baroque mansion completed in 1619 within the medieval walls of Laguardia, a fortified hilltop village in the Rioja Alavesa wine district, 40 kilometres northwest of Logroño. The building has been declared of historical and cultural interest by the Government of the Basque Country, and its stone architecture — vaulted ceilings, thick walls, and hardwood antique furnishings — is preserved throughout the property. The posada sits at one of the elevated points of Laguardia's old town, surrounded by the narrow cobbled lanes, towers, and medieval churches of the village, with views across the Rioja Alavesa vineyard plain toward the Sierra de Cantabria.
