Playa de Calamocarro Beach

Museo de la Basílica Tardorromana
Walk-through museum built over a genuine Roman mosaic floor (5th–6th century CE). Visually engaging for children — viewing the ancient mosaics through glass walkways is uniquely memorable. Free entry.
Dolphin-Watching Boat Trip
Boat trips from Puerto Deportivo de Ceuta to spot common, striped, and bottlenose dolphins in the Strait of Gibraltar. Trips run June–October, 2 hours. Book at the marina or enquire at Club Náutico de Ceuta (+34 956 51 40 27). Children love the dolphin encounters.
Monte Hacho Walk (Lower Section)
The lower section of the Monte Hacho trail is accessible for families with older children (8+). The views of the Strait from the intermediate mirador are spectacular and require only 30 minutes of walking from the Barrio del Hacho. Take a taxi up and walk down for younger children.
Heladería Polar Ice Cream
Local institution since 1965 serving handmade ice cream on Paseo de la Marina. A walk along the waterfront followed by turrón ice cream is a quintessential Ceuta family experience.
Playa del Chorrillo Swimming
The main beach, Playa del Chorrillo, has lifeguards from June to September, beach showers, and chiringuito bars. The shallow entry zone is good for swimming children. Sunbed rental €5–8/day (≈$5.40–8.64).
Ruta de las Murallas (Walls Walk)
The 3.5 km circuit of the Royal Walls is entirely flat and paved, making it pushchair and buggy-friendly. Combine with a picnic at the Foso Real (Royal Moat) gardens. Information boards with illustrations engage curious older children.

Spanish meal times differ significantly from many countries — lunch is 14:00–16:00 and dinner after 21:00. With young children, eat lunch at the restaurant's opening time (13:30) to avoid waiting.
The menú del día (set lunch) at €10–13 (≈$10.80–14) typically offers half-portions for children on request — always ask ('menú infantil' or '¿hacen medias raciones para niños?').
Bar Restaurante Dos Mares at Playa del Chorrillo is ideal for families — outdoor seating, direct beach access, and simple grilled fish and chips. Open daily 10:00–20:00 in summer.
