Convent de la Missió is a 14-room boutique hotel in Palma's historic centre, occupying a 17th-century Dominican missionary convent on Carrer de la Missió, a short walk from the Cathedral and the Plaça Major. The conversion — completed in the early 2000s — was undertaken with a rigorous respect for the building's sacred origins: the original cloister arcade has been preserved as the hotel's primary interior courtyard, the convent chapel remains largely intact and is used for private events, and the cells that once housed the missionary friars have been transformed into some of the most characterful boutique rooms in the city. The 14 rooms are individually designed, many incorporating original stone arches, exposed timber, and vaulted ceilings, while bathrooms and fixtures are fully contemporary. The most architecturally impressive rooms occupy the cloister-level with direct views into the courtyard. The hotel's international reputation rests significantly on the presence of Marc Fosh Restaurant, housed within the former refectory. Marc Fosh is one of the most celebrated chefs in the Balearic Islands and his Michelin-starred restaurant — using local Mallorcan produce with Mediterranean and light European techniques — has operated here for many years, drawing diners from across the island and internationally. Breakfast is served in the cloister courtyard when weather permits. The hotel's location in the dense historic fabric of central Palma means all major cultural sites are within a 10-minute walk: the Cathedral, the Palau de l'Almudaina, the Arab Baths, and the Old Town squares.
