Seasonal conditions in Sierra Leone.

Dry Season
November to April is the ideal hiking season. Clear skies, lower humidity, dry trails, and excellent visibility from summits. December to March is optimal.
Shoulder
October and May offer hiking with some rain risk. Trails can be muddy but landscapes are lush and green. Fewer other hikers.
Rainy Season
June to September sees heavy rainfall, flooded trails, and high risk of slips on steep sections. Forest hikes only with experienced guide. Charlotte Falls is most spectacular but trails hazardous.

Sierra Leone has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons. Always carry water and start hikes early morning before afternoon heat and potential rain.
